Abstracted Faces
My name is Caitlin and I will be be 16 yrs old in 2 days! I am a fused glass artist who creates "one of a kind" abstracted faces and have my own business called "Abstracted Faces". My fused glass faces are very abstract, unusual and different. My art is just a fun way of making people out of glass with a bit more style and personality to them. I cut, design, and customize the color of each of my faces for the hair, eyes, lips, face, and background color and even accessories for jewelry, hair, etc. I also individualize face colors for Caucasian, African American, Asian, and Hispanic. There can be 1-4 faces on a background piece of glass. I have aways had a love for art, but never found my true niche until I started fusing with glass. In 2007, I took a 2 week glass fusing and bead making camp class at Craft Alliance. The fusing caught my eye because it allowed me to be more creative. It was too difficult to cut circles out of glass, so I chose to do geometric shapes instead.
--I was selected to be in the 11th Annual Faces International Juried Online Exhibition (1 of 57 people from 250 entries worldwide). That's amazing, especially since I was only 15!
--My work is also is sold at a GALLERY called Limited Additions Gallery and at a high priced boutique shop called Graphic Traffic in Plaza Frontenac in St. Louis, MO.
