I Am Who I Am
I am who I am.
A wallflower in a bed of roses.
The only wolf among a pack of dogs,
Beautiful in my own way.
I am different.
New and fresh, unknowing,
Where to go.
They regard me with sharp dagger eyes.
What do they say about me?
A dolphin in a sea of whales,
What is it that they have that I don’t?
Why am I so strange?
I am who I am.
I am unique and special.
They cannot see who and what I am.
They are missing out.
I am who I am, and will be.
No amount of makeup,
Or hair care, or clothes,
Nor lies,
Can change me.
I am different.
I don’t belong.
I am very strange and unique.
I am not like the others.
And you know what?
I’m okay with that.
