Be the change you want to see in the world
- Ghandi

The morning dew hung off the leaves like crystal tears running from silver clouds
The dull gray clouds drizzled as the eerie quiet settled across the long valley
The soft petals suddenly stretched and yawned
Something was coming
Something bright, full, and wonderful
Then I heard it
Coming from the tops of forest pines to the east
It was a melodious song
A soft gentle summers breeze
It was indescribable
The flowers stretched up towards the flaming beauty
Soft and sweet it came rising high above the clouds in brilliant colors
Red, yellow, orange, pink, purple, and gold streaks of light filled the heavens like a glorious song
The flowers down in the valley became drunk with heat and light as they rose and fell singing and dancing in the wind
Though all were in uncomparison to beauty and poise,a cluster stood out
A red among blues, a fire in the rain, a note in silence
Small but proud were they
Common but unique
The Lilacs
Stunningly bright
The soft velvety petals decorated with deep shades of violet
The flowers were incredible
Reaching out a small distance to take in the flaming beauty’s rays
Alerting the world to see a spectacular sight, that is so often missed
Their song spreads across the long valley
When the birds hear, they listen to the song softer than a Jay’s and more lovely than a Nightengale’s
The flowers are alive
Singing their hearts out
They sing at dawn when the flames burst from the heavens
Sometimes the song floats up on the wind
The innocents wake up
Their mama’s rushing into there nursery’s to find their babies sitting up, listening for something lost in memory
Sometimes, if you walk across the valley, sometimes you can hear the flowers
You can hear the melodious voices of the lilacs, and the lullabyes of the roses
Those who do are at a loss for words to tell of this indescribable moment
They ponder their days searching themselves to see if it really hppened
Yet here I am
Writing these meaningless words on a bland piece of paper
The song of the valley is a gift to which few will ever hear
And the story of the lilacs is an adventure in which a tale shall be told of a musical breeze floating past
Their song to be lost among the winds in the heavens
A beautiful melody waiting to sing its heart out, as the flaming beauty bursts from over the tops of the forest pines to the east
And the valley of the flowers comes alive in heart and soul, to sing their wonderous songs of the dawn
Their legacy told anew
And yet without this, their voice is heard

The author's comments:
This is about a valley filled with beautiful flowers who have a special song. And those who can hear it, are the ones who listen.
