"I always wonder why birds stay in one place when they can fly anywhere around the world. But then I ask myself the same question."

You took me in

to a place

I call home

You gave me life

so the place you settle

is where I have to adjust

This world isn't pretty

but you brought me here

this is home

but I still feel like

a stranger

I share a 3000 square foot box

with people of the same genes

big shaped eyes, curly hair, and weird noses

blood relations

but no love

I am lost in a place I should feel

it feels like my room is my only refuge

every time I step foot out of it

the mood of the living room changes

and I dont feel like I am

so I go back into my refuge

still lost and lonely

I never loved

nor felt it

so love is the same as nonliving

You brought into this world

with no choice of my own

so I've settled and called this home

this feels like obligation

if I could leave

I would

I want to feel important

I am sheltered but I'm homeless

protected from the out

the bugs, the bad people

but protected from

members of a fam(ily)

"I love you" was never said to me

things that were suppose to be felt in a

weren't there

I am homeless

and obligated

this is my home

and i want to move out

This is a new approach to my writing. I don't usually write Free Verses. I'm a rhyming type of Gal but I want to expand my pieces. If it doesn't make sense, please guide me! Please rate and comment and I will do the same.

Truth has many shades. It's not a matter of black and white, but many grays.
