Human Cloning have you ever heard of it? Maybe you have seen it from a movie, book, or a magazine from the mail. You might even think “is human cloning even a thing?”. But yes it is possible, but not much of a popular thing to do. Many people think, why would you clone a human and also isn’t it to dangerous? Human Cloning is dangerous and not ethical so we shouldn’t clone humans.

What even is Human Cloning? Human Cloning is defined as the creation of a genetically identical copy of an existing, or previously existing, human being or growing cloned tissue from that individual. So what is the purpose of human cloning? The purpose is to help couples that can not have kids, and take a step forward in science. This may seem very nice and wonderful, but actually, it can cause things like premature death and faster aging. If you think about it human cloning can also cause a division in humanity. Another problem that may arise is that since humans can be cloned, human life itself can become less valuable. This could end up in more killings and more wars. Human Cloning can cause a lot of social unrest, death, and problems.

Commonly Human cloning is looked down upon by many people. For example “Two 2001 Gallup polls show that roughly nine in 10 Americans oppose the idea of human cloning. A Gallup poll conducted in May found 88% of Americans saying human cloning should not be allowed if it ever becomes possible. Similarly, the most recent CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll of Nov. 26-27 finds 88% opposed to "cloning that is designed specifically to result in the birth of a human being."(Source #1). So, this evidence shows how much Human cloning is disliked in America. But what can we learn from the statistics? Human Cloning is not good? Yes! Human cloning is scientifically proven dangerous and unpopular with the majority. So why should we be cloning humans, we shouldn’t.

Now, I can’t go on ranting about how terrible Human Cloning is without talking about some positive things. Like I said, “Human Cloning can help couples that can’t have kids”.  Human Cloning could also eliminate defective genes if the genes that are cloned are healthy. “recovery time could be long or it is even impossible for them to get back to their original state. However, cloning their own cells can lower recovery time and true healing could occur” (Source #2). But if you look at it and weigh the pros and cons… the cons weigh the pros out. Also, the idea of Human Cloning is not popular. So, if Human Cloning does become a thing then we can expect it in the future.

Human Cloning can create healthy babies.

Human cloning comes with its pros and cons, it sounds reasonable but dangerous. So, what I am trying to say is Human Cloning should not be allowed. Of all the reasons that it shouldn’t be allowed just it being unethical is a huge no factor for human cloning.
