She sits there
hiding in the dark
waiting for him to go
so he cant leave a mark

She wonders what shes done to deserve this
the constant abuse and teasing
shes running around in circles
for the pain never seems to be easing

And he's not the only one
whose is constantly hitting
there are two others
who are kicking and spitting

She puts on a show
appearing tough and mean
but shes hiding her fear
from what shes seen

Then she realizes
she's not alone
there's someone to talk to
waiting for her at home

My mom was my savior
she was my shining star
no matter how bad things were
she was never far

She took me away
from all the abuse
to a far away place
removing my noose

Although I was sad
I'll never forget
how much I love my mom
and owe her an unpayable debt

For my mom did more than stop the abuse
she gave me a brand new start
away where I could never be hit
a place where I can love with my heart

Unless you've been in my position
you can never really feel
the pain and anger in my heart
but now I'm starting to heal

Once the pain was gone
I was suddenly free
no more abuse and torture
no more chains around me

Even though I'll have this for life
I'm finally starting to heal
away from grief and pain
I'll know a love that's real
