My Community Service Experience
I started doing community service at the Newman Rehabilitation Center three years ago. My mother told me that I had to work over the summer and I wouldn't be sitting around. So I asked the Nursing Home if I could visit with the residents every day for the summer. It became a hobby. The residents are so nice and comforting; they tell me about their past and help me with my future problems. I love to color with this man, Guy. He is the sweetest person I have ever met. He and his sister were place in the Rehabilitation center a few years back. They have been strong throughout their years here and continue their experience together. When the residents see me walk in the door, it is quite a wonderful feeling; to see their faces brighten up and when they can't stay still in their chairs. I have had a wonderful time with the residents and hope to continue the experience.
