Do you think they feel happy standing solitary among the carcasses of their brothers?

Ask the trees what they see-
What they see when men in trucks invade their home.
Do they see people,
Or do they see monsters?

Ask the trees why they don’t fight back-
Why they don’t fight back when no one else will.
Don’t they care what happens to them,
Or do they believe in us to make this right?
