The Pine Woods
As I walked through the resinous smell of the evergreens I come upon a placid, blue lake. I see stunning silver salmon jumping there. The smell of the pine trees is staggering. I have never truly appreciated the smell of pine trees before. All around me I see lofty trees that touch the top of heaven. Surrounding the lake are lovely purple wild flowers. The perfume of the flowers reminds me of my great-grandmother’s perfume. As I turn around, the stunning, icy mountain quickly astonishes me. In the distance I hear a woodpecker searching for his supper. The sky above me is the exact blue of the lake. Though I don’t appreciate the out-of-doors, I am struck by its silent majesty.
