Teen Smoking: Who is responsible?
Imagine trying something new, like vaping, and getting sick or dying within three days. Surprising right? As of today, there have been 805 illnesses and 15 deaths. No one knows what’s inside these tiny, little pods that caused these deaths and illnesses.
Some may argue that smoking and vaping is not harmful, and no one is responsible, but I disagree. Underage teens and clerks are responsible in the matter. The clerks are responsible because they allow these minors to purchase the product (Juul/Blu) without asking for an identification card. Teens are responsible because they choose to vape after knowing that Vitamin E Acetate can damage their lungs in a very devastating way. Both are responsible, in a way they harm themselves or someone else.
This is important because it informs vapers about what nicotine can do. Four months of vaping is like years of smoking cigarettes. When you vape, oils get stuck to your lungs, in which it is hard to get rid of. These oils cause you to get sick. The smoke from this E-cigarette builds up in your rib cage which can damage your lungs. This indicates that this E-Cigarette is very bad. According to www.cdc.gov it states “The liquid can contain: nicotine, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabinoid (CBD) oils, and other substances and additives. THC is the psychoactive mind-altering compound of marijuana that produces the “high”. This means that there are a lot of different chemicals that these Juuls contain and more are added each time! People need to stop vaping, so they can continue living their young lives.
