“Toy Soldiers” is a fictional story about a teen named Vanessa, who is going through a hard time in her life. Despite having ­problems at home and having to go to a treatment center, she emerges a stronger person. She does not realize that she is ready to ­return to her normal life, but her actions speak louder than her few words.

I admire Vanessa for remaining true to ­herself when others would have given up. She doesn't always try her hardest, but ­eventually she learns that putting forth some effort gets better results than sulking. Even though this character is fictional, I think she undergoes a phenomenal journey that we can all learn from.
