The article “I Stink at Texting” by Isabella Chirico in the September 2011 issue is a story of a teenage girl and her troubles with texting. Even though all her friends find it almost a necessity, she doesn’t exactly agree. She’d rather talk in person than text at all. The reason I was so drawn to Isabella’s story was because I’m a frequent texter myself. However, it hasn’t always been that way. In the article, she explains the many miscommunications that follow texting. It’s always hard to determine what the person behind the text is trying to say. Another problem she encountered with texting is when the person doesn’t text back. She always comes up with reasons as to why they didn’t text back right away. I do that all the time. However, I try not to think about it too much and just continue what I’m doing, but it’s always in the back of my mind. “I Stink at Texting” is probably one of my favorite articles only because I can relate to it in so many ways.
