Fears and Promises
“Fears and Promises” by “Miranda W.” was one of the scariest subjects you could ever encounter, dying young. In this story Miranda is very sick and is dying. The only thing that can save her life is this final surgery, which could save her, but could also kill her. This story is also very powerful, because she stays strong and promises herself all these things like she will never neglect to tell her loved ones how much they mean to her. Before she dies she wants “no fears or regrets”.
This story hits me hard because I can strongly relate. My best friend has colon cancer; well she’s more like a sister to me. She found out about her illness on October 10, 2011; she’s only 17. She’s not afraid of dying; she just wishes she could graduate with her class. That is her biggest dream right now, but the cancer is stopping her. She’s in so much pain, but she’s a very tough girl. I hope my friends ending will end like Miranda’s
