End the D.A.R.E. Dynasty
The D.A.R.E. program is failing miserably. In this article, it even states that the creators of D.A.R.E. believe that their studies has been proven wrong and ineffective. Kids don't want to listen to a cop telling you drinking and drugs are bad. Everyone knows that, but kids need people with real life experiences talking to them. I remember sitting in the basement at my middle school goofing around with my friends, making dumb posters. No one takes the program seriously. Kids need something interesting to grab their attention. Learning from people who have suffered from alcoholism and drug addiction would really help them out. D.A.R.E. is an outdated and an over expense program and a new program should be started rather than trying to fix the flaws of this one.
