Shatter the Stigma
I found Erica’s article “Shatter the Stigma” very inspiring. I love how Erica expresses the fact that her mother is bipolar. She puts in a very positive manner. She tells how we should express disorders and treat the disorders as a positive thing. I think this story should inspire people to promote positivity. I also like how she uses her eyes and freckles to compare to her mom’s disorder. I agree with her in all of the things she says about this story. I love that she says, “Mental illness deserves a voice, but not a voice that is patronizing and condescending. No, it needs a voice that is witty and proud, honest and understanding.” I truly believe that Erica is one of those voices. I feel that Erica is definitely a positive person. The fact that she can take something as difficult as a bipolar disorder and make it a positive is just amazing.
Thank you ,Erica, for giving us such a positive message.
