Being Different
By nature, we are all unique. However, given the constant social pressure to “fit in”, we forfeit our individuality. The article “Being Different” by Jason G, addresses this very problem, and its countless repercussions. After reading this article, I became aware of how unproductive it is to try to blend in with the crowd, given it only hides the characteristics that make us original. I realized how we don’t need to strive towards uniqueness - we already have that. What we do need is the courage to show that individuality to the world, regardless of judgement. “Being Different” showed me that by doing this, we will reveal the positive aspects of our differences, and move towards embracing them altogether.
