(Not) Chasing Perfection
I can relate to Kellsey Clark when she writes about perfectionism in her article “(Not) Chasing Perfection.” Kellsey expresses how she really feels when others call her a perfectionist. She sees how people look at her “like being a perfectionist is equivalent of having a disease.” I can most definitely relate to Kellsey when she explains she has always organized things that really do not need organizing. I have always been the kind of person to want to tidy everything up and would obsess time and time again is something is not right. Kellsey helps us realize a perfectionist is not perfect. As she says, “throw this person into a life full of things she can’t control and organize. Fill her schedule to the brim so that she has absolutely no time to obsess over a clean room or perfect hair. That’ll teach her that being perfect is NOT possible.” Thank you Kellsey because you show perfectionism is not attainable, but excellence is.
