The Shadow of a Nobody
The sky was so incredibly blue, a deep, rich, powerful blueness that whisked away my breath. The only way I could describe it was that the sky was so blue that it shone in its bluish blue glory, it was magnificent because it made blue blue, there was no way to define blue but that blue is blue.
It was so bright, I could feel the edges of my existence melting in the intense, defined heat.
I glanced down at my scuffed, sneakers, stained with mud. And beside it, there was a shadow.
The sinewy shadow stretched in the sunlight, sliding past the crevices of the sidewalk. There, in broad daylight, it boldly sprawled itself across the sidewalk, never even shrinking away. Maybe, it wasn’t meant to belong here. Against the sky, my shadow lost its purpose. But still, it stood alone and it lived.
