John Scott was walking down the halls for a class project. He walked by Mr. Kasbohm’s class and he waved to John and said hi.

He said this because he and John have a good mutual relationship. Mr. Kasbohm was John’s math teacher last year and helped him learn a substantial amount of math. John still talks

to him this year even though he’s not John’s teacher.

So, Mr. Kasbohm said hello and John replied hello back.

Shortly after, Mrs. Fugarino said he has to stay after class for communicating in the

hallways. John tried to say that it was only because he said hello and John just replied. Mrs. Fugarino did not listen to him and said he has to stay even longer now.

It seems she thinks John saying hello is akin to him constantly talking and being loud. All he is doing is replying to a teacher.

Teachers should be more chill about talking in the hallways and at least get the whole story before punishing them.

As you can see, Mr. Kasbohm and John like each other, so him saying hello back is the respectful thing to do and he should not be punished for it.
