The Journey into the Cell
This weird man took me from the sink
and put me in a water can and this is how I ended up where I am.
Pouring fast and without hesitation sending me off to the next destination.
In the dirt with the grass I thought I was at peace at last.
Not for long peace is gone: I’m being taken up a stem.
Coming up to the cell walls like a bouncer at a club.
The semipermeable membrane of the cell walls let you in or kick you out.
Now inside the cell membrane enjoying the party.
I float along the cytoplasm which is a jelly-like substance
mode of molecules like me
and salt here and there.
Looking at the owner-- the nucleus
it runs things in this cell giving out instructions and creating proteins as well.
Still inside the cytoplasm helping hold things in place
I somehow end up in the endoplasmic reticulum.
This is where protein and lipid synthesis happens.
This is where a lot of the ribosomes are but ribosomes are scattered throughout. Ribosomes aid in the making of proteins too.
Next inside club “plant cell” is the mitochondria.
This is commonly known as the powerhouse of the cell.
It does what it’s known for it; it generates power to the cell.
Starting to become restless and tired
officially done with the party.
I float pass the cell's central vacuole and it seemed to take forever
The central vacuole is huge and stores things for the cell.
What a fun time but it must come to an end.
I exit through the chloroplasts
These conduct photosynthesis using sunlight, myself and carbon dioxide.
Finally going to be used.
I go in with glee to provide this plant food.
