In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by (William Shakespeare), Romeo and Juliet both die. There are few people to blame for their deaths, but no one is more at blame then Romeo and Juliet themselves. First Juliet only knew Romeo for a short while, she states “My ears have yet not drunk a hundred words of thy tongue’s uttering, yet I know the sound.”( ii. ii.59-60)

Shes saying she had not yet had a full conversation with him, therefore they barely know each other. Romeo and Juliet are more to blame, but then again friar laurence gave Juliet that awful idea to fake her death.

One of the characters responsible for Romeo and Juliets death, is Romeo himself. In the beginning of the play Romeo was in love with a girl named Rosaline, and then when he saw Juliet for the first time he forgot all about her. Then he kissed Juliet without even knowing her name. Even after Romeo found out who her family was he still proceeded to ask her to marry him, within not even a day of meeting her. Romeo knew the consequences of marrying Juliet and he did it anyways. Therefore he is a partly to blame for their deaths
Juliet is another character who brought her death upon her and Romeo. She let Romeo kiss her, and agreed to marry him, even though it is forbidden, and she barely knew him. She also brought the nurse into it to get Romeo, perhaps endangering another life. After romeo was banished she made the stupid decision to fake her death, without even thinking it through, or making sure Romeo knew about the plan before they tried it. Her actions helped lead up to the death of herself and her beloved Romeo.

Romeo and juliet are most responsible for their deaths, but then again it was friar Laurence who Married Romeo and Juliet knowing that their families hated one another. Also friar laurence gave Juliet the stupid idea to fake her death, without a complete plan that was thought out. He also didn't tell Friar John how important the letter was, that the letter could mean life or death for two teenagers. Therefore friar Laurence has a part in the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.

In the end, Romeo and Juliet are the ones to blame for their deaths. There could have been another way to be with each other if they would have come clean about their relationship, they should have never gotten married in the first place. It could also have been prevented if Friar Laurence didn’t marry them, or give Juliet the idea to fake her death. Either way, Romeo and Juliet were responsible for their own deaths, they just had help along the way
