Tim Burton
Tim Burton. One of the greatest producers/directors of our time. He has worked with people like Johnny Depp, Danny Elfman, Walt Disney and many more. Mr. Burton has given many must see halloween classics like The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, and Beetlejuice. He has also given us classics like Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, and Batman.
In the beginning, Tim Burton was born, a child and, went to school like everybody else. Burton was born in Burbank, California on August 25, 1958. He was born to Jean and Bill Burton. Burton went to Burbank High School. Mr. Burton graduated from California school of Arts. During that time one of his favorite hobbies was making short films. After a brief marriage to Lena Gieseke, Tim met Helena Bonham Carter, ( A.K.A, better known as Bellatrix from the famous series Harry Potter). They have two kids Billy and Nell. Billy is ten and Nell will be five on December, 15.
Burton’s career flourished when, he made his first short film Stalk of the Celery Monster. This got the attention of Mr. Walt Disney himself. After, working on films like, The Fox and the Hound, The Black Cauldron, and Tron. Tim and Disney had some, well... creative differences. Disney fired Tim after making the short film Frankenweenie in 1984. Starting on his own, his first full length film was Pee-wee’s Big Adventure. This film led to the films Beetlejuice and Batman. in the late 1980s. In the 1990s Mr. Burton made the films Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Cabin Boy, Ed Wood, Batman Forever, James and the Giant Peach, Mars
Attacks, and Sleepy Hollow. Later in his career Tim Burton directed/produced many films. The most famous out of his 2000 creative period was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, and 9. Also, in 2006 he directed his first and only music video “Bones”. This was directed for the Killers. Some of his more recent stuff is Alice in Wonderland, Dark Shadows, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and his most recent Frankenweenie. Danny Elfman plays a big part in almost all of Tim’s movies. The only films that Danny did not work on was Ed Wood and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and the only reason for that was because it was originally Stephen Sondheim's musical. Another person Tim likes to collaborate with is Johnny Depp. He has scored in the movies Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Alice in Wonderland, and Dark Shadows.
Here is some interesting bits of trivia about Tim Burton: Johnny Depp is the godfather to Tim’s kids. Frankenweenie was originally a short then turned onto a movie.
And, did you know that Sally was not in the original script to the Nightmare Before Christmas?
Some of my favorite quotes from Mr. Tim Burton himself are: “one persons insanity is another persons reality”, “You don’t know whether chimps are going to kill you or kiss you.” “They're open on some levels and much more evil in a certain way, People told me I couldn’t kill Nicholson, so i cast him in two roles and killed him off twice.”
So, yes Tim Burton was a child, went to school and has lived life but, he turned out to be one of the most creative people on this earth. Who knew that an average kid would turn out so brilliant? Well, as average Tim Burton can be. Tim is not yet dead but when he is I’m sure that the world will miss his creativity and darkness that we love so dearly.
