overcoming a broken arm
“Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it. Helen was two with meningitis when she became deaf and blind, but the way she overcame it is amazing,” challenged by Helen Keller(Keller). I was nine when i broke my arm on a dirt bike, even though they are different there overcomings are the same. Much like Helen Keller overcame the obstacle of not being able to communicate, I too overcame my obstacle of not being able to write.
Helen Keller had to overcome the obstacle of not communicating. When Helen was a baby she got sick and became deaf and blind by it. The Keller's hired Annie Sullivan to teach Helen language. Annie was able to teach Helen trust, obedience, and language to overcome her obstacle.
Like Helen Keller I also had to overcome an obstacle. When i was nine I rode my dirt bike and crashed, breaking my right arm in two. My parents paid and took me to therapy to regain my muscle tissue. The doctor was able to maneuver the bone back into place, so it could heal right.
Although our obstacles are different, they both have similarities to each other. Helen’s obstacles enabled her not to talk, my obstacle enabled me not to write, both of us couldn’t really learn hands on. Another similarity is that both our obstacles could be overcome by time and patience. Our obstacles are the same in different ways, but we still overcame them the same way.
Much like Helen Keller overcame the obstacle of not being able to communicate, I too overcame my obstacle of not being able to write. I learned that Helen’s obstacle was overcome by time, patience, and the right teacher. I learned from my experience is you shouldn’t favor one arm over the other. “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievements. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence,” challenged by Helen Keller(Keller).
