That Tragedy of Mine
Have you ever lost someone at a young age? I lost both my grandma and grandpa when I was five. I don’t remember much but I remember being sad, scared and kind of curious because I didn’t really understand anything back then. Much like Helen Keller overcame her inability to communicate I to overcome this tragedy.
Helen Keller had to overcome her inability to communicate due to her being blind and deaf. When Helen was a baby, she got very sick and became blind and deaf. The Kellers hired Annie Sullivan to teach Helen. Annie was able to teach Helen trust obedience and most of all language.
Like Helen, I to overcame an obstacle. When I was in kindergarden both of my grandparents died, I was very sad and scared after words because my other grandparents where getting old too and me having old parents didn’t help much. I overcame that later when I realised my alive grandparents were perfectly healthy and my parents were not that old yet. I am kinda worried now that my living grandparents are getting near that age but I’m more prepared for that and there still healthy.
Although our obstacles are different we share many similarities. We both had the tragedy happen at a young age. Both Helen and I needed outside help. While my obstacle is much less daunting we both got through and lived life.
I may not have an interesting tragedy to write about but I still overcame it. Similar to Helen I overcame a tragedy but from her experience I learned that I am lucky I don’t have any major disabilities except minor A.D.D. From my tragedy I learned that I shouldn’t let someones death hold me back I still have a life to live. “Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. only through experience of trial and suffering can our soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved” said Helen Keller (Keller).
