University of New Hampshire College Review
Being located in the small town of Durham, New Hampshire, the University of New Hampshire has 12,840 undergraduates enrolled in over 200 different degree programs. No matter if you are doing homework outside on the green, exploring the beautiful 2,600 acre campus, or enjoying the diverse food options at the multiple dinning halls, the University of New Hampshire always has something fun for you to do. But if you don’t enjoy the multicultural student organizations provided on campus there are plenty things to do off campus as well, just catch a ride on one of many free buses that can take you to different places around town or nearby towns.
While in town there are a great variety of food places including Mexican, Thai, Greek/Mediterranean, Italian, Chinese, and a number of American chain restaurants all in walking distance from the college. However, if you are not interested in dinning, there is also a mall and a variety of grocery stores you can go to, to get anything you may need. A train also goes through campus, where Boston is only an hour away, if you want to get away from small town living. Don’t stay to long, though. This small public school has much to offer and you definitely don’t want to miss out on all the fantastic wildcat sporting events that take place on campus. There are also more than 200 academic groups on campus if you are not interested in the division one sports teams. They range from juggling club to skiing and boarding club and anything in-between.
So, don’t let this 1866 founded school fool you. They have stayed updated and there are plenty of things to do on and off campus. Basically, you get the bang for your buck, at UNH.
