Cancer Effects

As a person, I am writing a feature article about cancer to explain the effects on families because my aunt who was really close to me died of it. You can help your family member or a friend who knows of someone with cancer by supporting them through their hard time and just keeping them stable.

A couple of years ago my aunt died of brain cancer. She started off with lung cancer and it was the worst time of my life, she didn´t make through chemo and passed away that week. The doctors said that it was a miracle she lived that long. There are many procedures that you can have to help fight the cancer. One of them i have already said which is chemotherapy. There is also Cryosurgery, a treatment in which extreme cold produced by liquid nitrogen or argon gas is used to destroy abnormal tissue. This helps cure early stage skin-cancer, retinoblastoma, and precancerous growths. Lasers are a treatment that uses powerful beams of light to cut through tissue. This fights basal cell carcinoma, cervical, vaginal, esophageal, and non-small lung cancer. Another one is hyperthermia, is a treatment that exposes a portion of the skin to high temperatures killing the cancer. Photodynamic is a treatment that uses drugs which reacts to a certain type of light. This can help cure skin cancer, mycosis fungoides, and non-small cell lung cancer.

Even when times get tough you have to keep fighting. Because in the end it’s worth it. Cancer is the worst thing ever and it's very hard to get through, but when you have friends and family by your side you want to keep fighting with them. Sometimes if you get kicked down you got to stand back up because tomorrow's going to be a different day.
