Why Music Is So Important In Our Daily Lives
Music is something that is a part of our daily lives. Whether you’re cleaning, driving, or studying, music is something society turns to. You can’t NOT listen to music, it’s everywhere. You hear music in commercials, radios, and even when you’re going through your daily routine like grocery shopping. Music develops our brain and the abilities that correlate with it. People learn how to speak different languages just by listening to a song that is not in the language that they aren’t used to speaking. I listen to music all the time throughout the day. Music is something I turn to when I’m bored, feeling happy, or just want to be alone.
In other words, music can help with many things. It is something humans often turn to for therapy. When you want to feel happy, you listen to happy songs; when you want to feel sad, you listen to sad songs; when you want to have a good time, you listen to a playlist that make you want to have fun. There are many categories of music you can choose from. Music’s purpose is to express your emotions and to let out whatever you’re feeling in an artistic form. This can benefit you in many ways. For example, music can reduce stress, lessen anxiety, ease pain, improve memory, and provide comfort. This is very beneficial and impacts our lives in many ways.
In addition, music is brought to life through concerts, which I enjoy attending. My favorite concert that I have ever attended was when I saw Harry Styles for the first time at Madison Square Garden. I find concerts as a place to escape your inner thoughts and just forget about them for a night. Nearly two years ago on May 22, 2017, there was a bombing at Ariana Grande’s show in Manchester. That incident affected their community, but Ariana brought Manchester and possibly all of England together and did a free concert to raise money there. At this concert, she had reached out to multiple artists to perform. Ariana’s concert ended up raising $13 million for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund and The British Red Cross.
On that note, music can change our lives. It influences our lives by helping relieve whatever you are feeling, such as stress. It can put your mind into a different headspace when you just want to be alone and isolated from society. It can also be a form of therapy for whenever you’re feeling down. You can never escape music, no matter how hard you try it’s always going to be there. You may as well embrace it! I’ve always loved music growing up, and it is very important to me because it got me through hard times; I’m sure some of you can relate to that as well. Music does not only have health benefits, but music makes your life more colorful.
