Gun Control Laws Would Change The World
Imagine being in one of the school shootings that happen more than once every year or regular shootings that happen in your local mall or grocery store. Well, if we had a law against gun violence and having the right people own guns then none of those shootings would happen and innocent people wouldn’t be dying from shootings every year. The frequency of mass shootings is becoming more common and we need gun control laws to help make the US better place. In 2013 there was at least one school shooting every 45 days and the amount has probably grown much more over time. Making gun control laws would help the whole country and other countries might follow on and it would change the world.
School shootings happen all over the world. There are so many every year and people might wonder why these keep happening all the time. The reason for all these school shootings is because we don’t have anything about certain people having guns. Some might argue that people should focus on mental health and that is the reason that most school shootings or shootings start in general. However, thousands of people die each year from shootings because of no gun laws against certain people having guns and not having guns. Almost 40,000 people have died in the past year from guns. The highest amount of deaths from guns in 50 years. Since the Parkland shooting there has been a shooting every 12 days rather in 2013 when there was one every 45 days. Having teens being able to have the chance of even holding a gun is remarkable. It’s crazy to even hear. Without certain types of gun laws against certain ages or certain people able to have a gun, these school shootings will be higher than a shooting every 12 days. Want to stop school shootings and innocent people dying from them each year, then lock up the guns.
Shootings happen all over, and very often. Some may believe, that mental illness is causing all these shootings. But, other people rather than just politics are standing up and trying to go against guns and want gun laws. Kids from schools that were involved in shootings want to have a say in gun laws. Also, parents of kids who have died in shootings or were injured want to help get laws against and have a say. As said by Carly, the kids are traumatized and scared after seeing the kids they walk the halls with die. Parents of victims from shootings believe that kids and adults should take a stand. Most parents that their kids were victims of the Parkland shooting have put everything aside and focused just on getting laws about guns so that people that don’t need access don’t get it. The parents of the kids that died in shootings have come through and said all schools should have metal detectors, they should raise the age of being able to own a firearm higher, armed guards at all schools, and taking away guns from people that are mentally unfit.
Over time there have been more and more mass shootings- an incident involving multiple victims of firearms-related violence- that have occurred. Over just the past year 59 people have died as a result of mass shootings. With the 59 deaths that have occurred,a there have been 6 mass shootings in the past year. At Sante Fe High School in Texas lead to 10 of the 59 deaths we had from the mass shootings. One of the highest shootings that have ever occur is the shootings in which lead to 58 dead which is more than we had in the past year.
With these shootings happening everywhere some people such as even your peers at school could fear to go to places such as school or your local grocery store.
The frequency of mass shootings is becoming more common and we need gun control laws to help make the US better. Every year innocent lives of people are getting taken from these guns that aren’t getting locked up. School shootings are ruining parents lives and doing their best to help stop it. Just know that a shooting can happen anywhere and any time. You could be at your local gas station, school, McDonald’s, a concert, the movies, restaurant, these mass shootings can happen anywhere. Without the US getting laws on guns then these shootings will increase and just get higher and higher and nobody will be able to stop it. These mass shootings can just lead to one thing-- more deaths. Now that you know that these mass shootings are ruining people’s lives, you should too think gun control laws are the right thing.
