Hearing the team ahead of us announced to the crowd, I started to feel the nerves turn my stomach. I waited in formation, squeezing my poms as hard as I could with sweaty palms. I dazed at the crowd and see the bleachers packed tight of strangers and rooting parents. My throat runs dry and my knees start to shake. We hear the next team announced, and it’s us. The whole team plasters a perfect smile on their faces and march prominently onto the court. As the music slowly starts to rattle my ear drums, I begin to dance. Seeing the parents screaming and cheering from the crowd hypes me up. By the end, I felt as if my legs were jelly, but I kept on trucking through. We all hit the ending pose, and walk off with poise. Heaving on the side lines, trying to catch my breath; I felt I had no regrets and left all I had on the dance floor.
