Black Friday brought in thousands of customers nationwide in seek of deals and sales. One of the best deals for Black Friday, however, was not one found in a regular clothing store.

U.S. Cellular leaked out information of supposed “free cell phones” being given away starting Black Friday, and ending Monday, November 30th.

The rumor was customers could trade in old, dilapidated phones for a brand new, top of the line, tech savvy cell phone. Trading bricks for Blackberries, though? There had to be a catch.

But there wasn’t much of a catch on this hot deal. One of U.S. Cellular’s internet sites clearly states, “free phones after required mail in rebate, including Blackberries.”

“I traded my old phone for a brand new Blackberry at no cost. This deal was awesome,” says senior Hannah S.

Apparently the only catch was a required mail in rebate to receive a brand new phone with the latest technology.
