Over the course of the school year, students at Arrowhead donate food, coats, and pennies. There is one thing that is donated that is extremely important; blood.
On Friday, December 4 ___ students donated blood to the Blood Center of Wisconsin.
Donating blood can be scary, but saving three lives should encourage people to donate. “I was a little nervous, but it was pretty awesome,” said Bryan, a senior at Arrowhead.
The blood will be collected by the Blood Center of Wisconsin. This organization services 55 hospitals in 28 counties. Local hospitals that will receive these donations are Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and Elmbrook Memorial Hospital. People all over Southeastern Wisconsin will benefit from a blood donation when they experience a major surgery, receive an organ transplant, or are born prematurely.
Last December, the AHS blood drive collected 190 pints of blood.
