When the dust settled...
“When the dust settled…”
When the dust settled and the world was revealed I realized I wasn’t in Kansas anymore or maybe I was but don’t remember any horse drawn carriages or saloons in 2012. I looked down at my clothes and I noticed I was wearing heavy pants and a thick cotton button up that was slightly hidden by a worn leather jacket. Staring and wondering what happened to my Armani suit a blob emerged in the edge of my tunnel vision.
“Sir?” a mans voice bubbled in my direction, but I was to busy being dazed as if I was hit by a bus. A bus! That’s It, I was walking across the crosswalk on Main Street and the metro bus ran a red light.
“Am I dead?” I asked aloud not directing the question to any individual but myself.
“You look like your half way there but you seem alright to me partner. You gotta watch the road or you’ll get your self actually hit.” The worried man said answering my question. What the hell is going on I thought not knowing what to think.
“Where am I?” I said worried to hear the answer.
“You’re in Kansas.” The seeming short mans reply eased my fears of being knocked out of the state but still not making what happened any clearer.
