Do Violent Video Games Contribute to Youth Violence?

Over the years of video games since 1958 games have always played a big part of life. I think that video games have good side to it like helping people with math or reading. Nowadays, children are more likely to be found playing video games.

Violent video games teach youth that violence is an acceptable conflict-solving strategy and an appropriate way to achieve one's goals. Video games are great tools that offer endless opportunities to practice and learn. you take a test, you don’t do so well, you get a low score, you feel defeated and diminished, and then you move on to the next assignment. You’re not allowed to take the test again and master the material. No wonder kids love video games. They love the FUN of mastering challenges and the feeling of accomplishment! As far as I’m concerned, video games prepare people much better for the real world in which success is based on learning from failures, mastering challenges, and reaching goals despite the number of times they failed. Brain age is an example of a game that can help you. Brain age is a game that is used to improve math and reading intelligence to help them in school and work overall.

Most video games help video games help children's brains develop in important ways. The game minecraft is one of those games as well as the brain age series. Minecraft puts players to work by providing the imagination with images and metaphors that give it direction. The blocks represents a random open world and the challenge to control it. Players learn which resources help them to thrive and what dangers need to be overcome. Next, kids use their imagination to make sense of the real world – more than facts or information. Minecraft is being used to educate children on everything from science to city planning to speaking a new language.

Video games don't have to be labeled "educational" to help children learn to make decisions, use strategies, anticipate consequences and express their personalities. Although video games do have lots of problems with young violence I think video games are being abused in a way that makes them seem as if they are violent tools. This affects the video game companies money wise and decrease sales making them go out of business. In my eyes I love video games. Video games are a big part of my life and hope to be a video game designer.
