The American Way MAG
The toothpick shaped man
in the brown leisure suit
told us not
to whistle, dance, or yodel,
and I think this is America,
and I can yodel if I want to.
I sit back, in the small projection room
to relearn the story of JFK's life
for the tenth time
and debate if I should
ask about Marilyn.
An old TV and blender,
Campaign posters scream
Kennedy for President.
The water outside,
so peaceful and calm -
Rough breaks getting closer.
Jackie smiles at me
through tired eyes,
as always a lady.
When did she get to yodel?
