Happiness MAG
Happiness
by M. W., Rehoboth, MA
Happiness to me lies in the little things that conjure up comforting memories. The smell of Crayola crayons and brand-new dolls reminiscent of my childhood. The taste of chocolate chip cookies fresh from the oven, a hand-knitted afghan given by a caring relative, old-fashioned apple pie, the smell of rain, warm fuzzy slippers on an icy cold winter day, a song I haven't heard in years that represents a special moment in my life, lying in the summer sun, a call from an old friend, hot chicken soup, the sound of the ocean, the feel of the soft earth beneath my bare feet, a newborn puppy, a soft white kitten, the smile of a baby, and the embrace of a loved one ... this is happiness to me.
