I believe in music.
“Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul.” Music, to me, is the building block to the many relationships I have in my life. I believe in the power of music. No matter where I am in life, or how much I have accomplished, music is always right there with me. No matter the circumstances or how I feel, music always makes me feel better. I have been friends with a lot of people in the short amount of time I have been on this earth, but the people I always find myself closest with are the people who enjoy music as much as I do. In my eyes, music is one of the most important things in everyday life.
About a year ago, I went to see my favorite band in concert. This band has gotten me through so much in my life. With that being said, I was very excited. When I got to the concert I was overwhelmed and the amount of people there. The fact that all these people love this band just as much as I do. That this beautiful community of people came together to enjoy the music that we all liked. In the middle of the concert, the band started playing an acoustic song, it was my favorite. I immediately started crying, tears everywhere, no holding back. I was a sobbing mess. There was a couple standing slightly in front of me, blocking my full line of vision, but i didn’t care. The music was all that mattered to me in that moment. The girl in front of me saw me crying and said, “Wow, this probably means a lot more to you than it does to us, here, have our spot.” This made me cry even more, I was so happy. That is a night I will never forget. I will forever have that memory living in my brain.
Music has helped me in more ways than my therapist has, and that says something. Not that my therapist is bad or anything, but she can’t always be around to help me like my music can. I will never get tired of sharing the music I listen to with others because I know it can only bring us closer. I love music, its my only escape from all the bad in the world. Music is, and always will be, a huge part of my life.

I was inspired to write this piece because of how much my music means to me, there is nothing in this world that I value more in this world.
