The beginning
The beginning
I remember the first time going to elementary school. Going into class and meeting my teacher for the first time. I also had to find my name on the seat and see where I was going to sit. When I started elementary school I didn't want to go because I knew I was going to miss my mom and dad but my mom would always tell me that it would be okay and that I would have a good day I was only 5 when I started and I didn't want to leave home.
I got to school and I had made it through the day and I showed my mom and dad what I did in school. I told them about the things that I have learned that day. I also told them that my teacher was nice. Later on when I was in elementary school I knew that I really liked drawing since I was taking an art class in kindergarten. That's how I got started drawing and I've been taking art classes ever since. Every time I drew something in art I would get home and show my family what I did. When I was in 3rd grade and got to art class I saw a sewing machine that the teacher had on the table. The teacher had assigned us to create our own pillows. The teacher showed us the different types of fabric we could use for our assignment.
I decided to make a small a big and small pillow. At that time my mom was pregnant with our fourth sister, I was so excited to meet my new baby sister. I decided to make the small pillow for my baby sister. Then we all started with picking our fabrics. I went to go find the colors I wanted to use for the fabric. I found the perfect pink for the pillow for my little sister. I decided to make both of my pillows pink. Once we all had our fabric the teacher taught us how to use a sewing machine and how it worked. I drew marks on the fabric to known what parts I of the fabric to cut and to figure out how I wanted my pillows to be. When I cut all the pieces of the fabric that I didn't wanted, I started to put pins around the fabric. When I was done putting pins to secure the fabric from moving when I started sewing. Once my pillows were sewn I added the stuffing and when I was done I took them home. When my baby sister was born I gave her the little pillow that I made her.
When I was done with elementary school I went to middle school. On the first day of middle school I kept taking art class and learned different things about drawing. The art teacher had asked us to draw a picture about a children's book we remembered reading. This new assignment that we were doing was that we had to draw the picture and paint it. When I got to work on my drawing I decided to pick the book of the Ugly Duckling because it had a great message behind the story. I started lightly sketching my drawing and once I was done I went to go pick out the painting that I needed. I picked some light colors and lightly dipped my brush into the painting, I started painting the background first and then painted the the little duck. At the end when I was done painting the background, I decided to add some details. Some of my paintings and drawings from middle school were chosen to be put in the art museum.
I told my parents that I wanted to take the career in art and that I was going to keep on taking an art class to achieve my goal. Also keep learning different things about drawing and get better and better. That's how I first started drawing and have been drawing ever since the first day of elementary school. That's how I knew that I wanted to keep drawing and do that when I grew up. I'm still taking art class till this day.
