Lost soul

On a dark, cold, stormy night in early May lighting is striking rapidly. I look Looking out into the dark abyss being formed from the rapid rain and winds. The only light are, flashes of lighting.

“Meow” a soft sound is the darkness. I look down to see a cat brown with long black stripes illuminated by the flashes of lighting. As I open the door, thunder begins to rumble, launching the cat into a full sprint into my living room, Diving under my couch. My grandma and I approached the cat. We see slick wet fur and that he is without a name tag or collar.

The next morning my grandma goes out to get food and other supplies. I fill up food and water., He slowly comes out from under the couch cautiously approaching the bowls. Before it digs in eating up all the food within seconds. We noticed he must've not eaten in days. With no collar and seeing how hungry he was, I asked to keep him.

”Let me talk to your mom,” she says.

The next morning I still see the cat and my mother trying to play with him. At that moment I knew I was going to be able to keep this cat and give it a better life.

We got him huge play towers, every kind of toy, and  the best food. We gave this cat the life it deserved. He warmed up very fast to sleeping in our rooms within a few weeks. He never tried to leave either. But not everything last forever

After 1.5 years he was already older so he was getting slower at this point. We took him to the vet and they said he's not in pain, just old and let him enjoy his last few days so we a little after 1 an ½ years he passed away.
