Grandparents

About a week ago me and my dad went over to my grandparents house to help them move some things around in their house. The main thing they wanted me to do was to bring a desk they had down stairs, upstairs. To do this we needed to take it apart and then rebuild it when we got all the parts upstairs. Of course this was something that I wasn’t planning on doing, I still needed to make an effort to show up and help out. After all they have done so much for me, the least I can do is help move a desk.

The first step for me and my dad was to take apart the desk so we are able to lift it and move it upstairs. Throughout this time I thought about how much my grandparents appreciated me and my dad coming over because this is something that they wouldn’t be able to do on their own. Throughout the time they showed continuous appreciation by saying, “Thank you.” Something that is always a warm feeling when you absorb it.

As we finally got all the parts upstairs we were finally able to build it. This was the easy part out of all this because it is just putting something back together that we just took apart. We finally were able to get this desk together after having a little bit of trouble.

When we were getting ready to head out, I gave my grandma a hug and my grandpa knuckles, something that I make sure to do every time on my way out of their house. A way to express my gratitude for everything they have ever done for me. They expressed their appreciation by saying, “thanks for everything” as we headed out of the door.
