Taekwondo Teacher
Someone in my life that has inspired me is Mr. Helcher. He is my Michigan hero because he is an influential person. He has inspired me so much. He has helped me go through the highs and through the lows. I was inspired so much by what he told me that I listened to what he had to say. He was my teacher and judged me at the time when I got my First Degree Black Belt.
Mr. Helcher is a very nice man. He helped me get through hard times. Last March I had been assaulted at my old school district and I had asked him what to do several weeks before I had been assaulted since the bullying was really bad. He knew my old school district did nothing because they did nothing when his daughter went there. He was a big help over Facebook messenger when he would send me influencing messages. Most of his influencing messages were from the youtuber named Dhar Mann who influences others. The Dhar Mann quotes inspired me because I watch Dhar Mann a lot on my freetime so it was really influencing to get his quotes sent to me daily by Mr. Helcher.
Mr. Hecher was my taekwondo teacher and he had given me my First Degree Black Belt. His amazing work and perseverance towards me pushed me to get something now many people normally attempt to achieve. I went to his classes for over 4-5 years. I started when I was 5 and when I was 9 years old I achieved the First Degree Black Belt. He also taught me to never back down from a challenge and earning the First Degree Black Belt was a challenge. I had to relearn every form that each belt had so that I could get the belt I was working hard to get. It was very challenging, I even needed to know how to use nunchucks to get the belt.
I was very excited when I was able to see him this past summer. He came out to see his grandkids. I was really happy when he reached out to my parents that he wanted to meet with me. We went to Jj Ruby’s and had lunch and we talked about how life was going for the both of us. I talked about how the bullying from my other school was making me have to leave. Mr. Helcher knew I would miss my friends from the school.
Mr. Helcher is a great teacher. If I could redo my life and have the opportunity to do his class over again, I would do it again and again. He is that good of a teacher and that huge of an inspiration to my life and to many others. Mr. Helcher is a life saver and is a hero to many people. He sent me influencing quotes at my hardest time after being assaulted. He will always be my Michigan hero.
