They Think I Can't Hear Them
"The truth is, nobody on this team is really any good." Coach Sterling whispered while I was on third.
She thought i was out of ear shot. But all i kept imagining was me, bolting off of third and yelling, "You think I can't hear you?! How about you just SHUT UP! Your own DAUGHTER is on this team!!"
I wish I had. Because that scarred me. It made me think, "Am I useless? Just another girl passing through this softball league?" I wanted to go somewhere.
So, thanks a lot Coach Sterling, for ruining my life, and my self-esteem.
