Why Do You Make Me Do This?
He passionately pushed his lips against hers, attempting to open them and get his tongue down her throat. His hands roamed all over her body, the bruised and cut flesh unyielding to him. He was trying too hard to make her want this. Even though she thought she loved him, she didn't want this from him.
"Baby please," she pleaded in between his lips crushing hers. "I'm not ready."
"I thought you loved me," was his sterile reply.
"I do, but I'm not ready Chase."
"Then you don't love me, not really." His hurt was far from genuine, but she was young and vulnerable and didn't know any better.
So she kissed him, hoping she'd be able to just power through all of it; maybe it would be over quickly. But then, when his hands started traveling down her stomach towards what he really wanted, she pulled away. The sickening feeling inside of her was too much.
"Chase I can't," she cried, tears streaking her cheeks. His eyes got darker and she knew the worst of it was far from over.
"I knew you didn't love me," he growled, getting up from her bed.
She crawled to the corner of her bed, holding a pillow in her hand and shaking with terror. "Chase-" she began.
"Save it! I'm tired of your bullshit! Everyone loves us as a couple - Marvin, Sarah, even your mom! Why would you ruin it for them?!"
"I'm not trying to ruin anything baby!"
"Every time you make me do this to you, you ruin it more and more! I'll teach you respect one way or another..."
She pleaded with him, but it was too late. He raised his hand, swinging the back of it across her face with such a force that her head hit the wall behind her. He punched her hard in the shoulder, all the while screaming at her that she was a heartless idiot for doing this to her family. He screamed the usual at her - foul words that could curdle milk and that broke her heart and her spirit. He even threw in the "c" word a couple of times.
Eventually, he drug her down to the floor while she was kicking, trying to get away. Every time this happened, she wondered why she kept trying to get away - it never worked!
He made sure she couldn't escape and then started in on his favorite method of breaking her spirit. The first kick hit her in the rib; the second hit her in the shoulder that he had punched earlier.
Kicking was his favorite; he was always above her and it required very little effort. She wasn't sure how long this went on for, but when it was over, one of her teeth was missing and blood was coming out of her mouth.
He layed on the bed, tired from working his muscles so much. Soon he was sleeping, and she tried to get up. It hurt like hell, but she knew her mom would be home soon so she had to get cleaned up. She half crawled to the bathroom and turned on the sink, grabbing a washcloth from the cabinet. She spit out blood from her mouth and held the cloth between her teeth, clotting the wound. Then she brushed out her matted hair and rinsed out the cloth, preparing for what came next.
The warm water on her bruises and cuts stung, but she knew it would help them heal faster. She was surprised to find there was no bruise on her face, considering the force his first hit had on it.
As her mom's car pulled into the drive way, she curled up next to Chase, hoping he would wake up feeling better and ask for her forgiveness like he always did.
Then she would kick him out of her house...
