hate-flirting with reality

i wanna live in a watery world.

i wanna shiver and waver on the surface of a puddle. to disappear into ripples when someone steps on me instead of breaking into pieces like the fragile idiot i am in reality.

reality doesn’t sit well with me, i think.

it sidles over to you, looking like the coolest kid you’ve seen. it crooks a smile at you, leans back, whispers a question into your ear.

"so why should i care about you?"

you’d think it’d at least have the decency to look like the greasy bookie it actually is.

"I'm nobody."

This has a good voice behind it. You should read Ham on Rye by Charles Bukowski.

First dentistry was painless.
Then bicycles were chainless,
Carriages were horseless,
And many laws enforceless.

Next cookery was fireless,
Telegraphy was wireless,
Cigars were nicotineless,
And coffee caffeineless.

Soon oranges were seedless,
The putting green was weedless,
The college boy was hatless,
The proper diet fatless.

New motor roads are dustless,
The latest steel is rustless,
Our tennis courts are sodless,
Our new religion — godless.

I really like this. It has truth and honesty, not to mention emotion, in it. Going to my favorites.:P
