It seems that today most people have divorced parents. Maybe I just see it because I come from one of those families. To understand what it is like to have divorced parents you have to experience it. No one knows what it is like until it happens to them. From my experience I can tell you it is hard at times between the moving back and forth, but I can tell you it is also relieving. I know that if my parents stayed together my life would not be the same. I would not know any of the people I know today. I would not even live in California. I would still be living in Texas. My parents constantly fought while they were married. They really did try to stay together. Do you know how hard it is to move halfway across the country with two small children? It is very difficult. My mother made the decision about 13 years ago. Ever since my mom made that decision my life have been better. When we first moved to California we had a hard time, but it was still better than living in Texas. My mother had a hard time getting good jobs and having nice places to live since we left everything in Texas. Despite all of the odds against us we still thrived. My sister and I went to private school and we got the best education we could. So after everything we are now successful. We moved towns, my mother got a good job, my mother got remarried, and we now live in a nice house in a food part of town. We have progressed so far thanks to my mom for doing everything she could to give her kids the best lives she could including leaving her husband.
