Frozen Paradise MAG
It was a very cold and brisk evening. The moon was shining brightly on the astro-turf. The frost on the turf glistened like diamonds from the stadium lights. In the locker room, the sound of tape coming off its roll was prevalent. There was a frenzy of excitement that came over each player. It was our first lacrosse game of the season against Canisus High. We had spent long days and nights practicing in all conditions. We were as ready as we would ever be. As we left the locker room, thoughts of what had to be done in the next hour of playing time went through my head. I was especially excited because this was my first varsity game, and I was starting. We took our warm-up lap and began to stretch. We counted off with an intimidating roar that would scare anyone. We got in our huddle and had some last reassuring words from our coach. We were sent onto the field. I was so excited and nervous. I couldn't let the other team know, or they would eat me alive.
The whistle blew and I was instantly focused on one thing - preventing the other team from scoring. Our offense pumped in goal after goal. We were working like clockwork. The sweat was dripping from our heads and freezing on our necks. The condensation from all the heavy breathing was making little icicles on our cages. We won with the score: 14-1. This will be a night I will not only remember for its win, but also for the coldness. We turned a cold evening and made it a warm sunny day with our victory. This was my "frozen paradise." I could relive it every day. l
