Lexxi Longmore, a sophomore at Arrowhead High School, is one the__ underclassmen on the Arrowhead girls’ varsity soccer team.

Longmore has played soccer for 13 years. She started playing when she was three years old, first starting out as something to do. She never thought it would turn into a sport she loves.

Freshmen year Longmore was on the freshmen team, something you would expect from a freshman. But with Longmores’ hard work and dedication to the sport she landed herself a starting spot on varsity.

Longmore plays for not only Arrowheads team but also for a club team. She has been playing club for eight years. Originally she played for Lake Country United, but then later switched over to Sockers FC IL when they merged with Lake Country United.
By playing club, Longmore was exposed to many different people, one of them being Hartland resident McKenna Vento. At the time that Longmore and Vento were playing soccer together Vento was attending North Shore Middle School. Longmore and her family decided to relocate to Hartland and decided to attend Arrowhead High School the fall of Longmores freshmen year.
Spring of Longmores sophomore year is when her hard work started to pay off. When she leaned that she has a spot on varsity, Longmore describes the situation as “exciting and overwhelming”.
“It’s really great to see my hard work pay off in such a huge way,” says Longmore.
According to Longmore the best part of the Arrowhead soccer program is without a doubt the coaches and all of her teammates.
All the coaches really are there to help you get better every day and truly do care about you. Along with the coaches, the teammates are just as great. They all support in each other in failure and success according to Longmore.
This 2012-2013 season is going great for the girls. Longmore said that they really should go far in the playoffs this year, if not all the way to state.
Longmore has had a great season herself so far. Not only has she scored a couple goals, but she scored the winning goal against Waukesha West in the 78th minute.
“The most rewarding thing about winning a game is knowing that we left everything out on the field and that we gave it our all and our all was good enough,” says Longmore.
Along with the hard practices and the rewarding feelings after winning games, there is a whole support group behind Longmore. Longmore states that her parents are her biggest fans.
“My parents are always there for me and put up with my bad attitudes after a hard practice and still support me no matter what,” says Longmore.
Longmore’s friends are also one of her big supporters. According to Longmore, they are at almost all of her home games, and they fight over who gets to wear her jersey to the games.
With the season almost ending, it’s almost time to say goodbye to the family that they have created throughout the whole season.
The seniors are a big part of the team and according to Longmore are going to be the hardest to say goodbye too.
