You Don't Know What You've Got Till It's Gone
You Don’t Know What You’ve Got Till it’s Gone

August 29, 2005, a day we will never forget,
To some, many things we will regret.
Watching television was no longer entertainment,
CBS and WWL were now our best acquaintances.
Many knew nothing of what lay back home,
Later to our knowledge, it looked like a war zone.
Once we got back, everything was ruble,
Everyone now realized this was big trouble.
The demolishing and rebuilding was coming to a start,
Sadly, friends and family were drawn farther apart.
Many of us were now planting new lawns,
For, you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.
