In September, TV shows premier on NBC, ABC, and the CW. New TV shows have had up to 12.1 million viewers since September 24th. The return of shows such as “The Voice,” “How I Met Your Mother,” and “Vampire Diaries” are still on top, according to TV.com

The top returning show is “The Voice”, according to TvGuide.com. “The Voice” airs Mondays at 7 p.m. central and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. central on NBC. Currently, the show is in auditions. Contestants sing a song while the coaches—Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, CeeLo, and Blake Shelton—have their chairs turned away from the contestants. The contestants are judged solely on their voices, rather than their appearances. If one of the coaches like what they hear, they will turn around and ask the contestant to join their team. Sometimes, this involves fighting off the other coaches. “The Voice” has had an average of 10.2 million viewers since the season premiere this fall.

A new show premiered this fall called “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD”. Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” airs Tuesdays at 7 p.m. central on ABC. It is commonly known as the Avenger’s spinoff. The premiere episode aired on September 24th and had 12.1 million viewers. However, it has lost 800,000 viewers since the premiere, according to TheGuardian.com. The Avenger’s movie actor, Phil Coulson is the main character in this series.

“The Vampire Diaries” returned this fall for its fifth season due to its successful outcome in viewers. It airs on the CW on Thursdays at 7 p.m. central. “The Vampire Diaries” is targeted toward young adults. At the 2013 Teen Choice Awards, it was nominated for eight awards. At the 2013 People’s Choice Awards, it was nominated for five awards.
