My Thoughts On High School
So I've came to conclusion that high school is like a battle field. Walking down the halls your never to sure what your find lying around the bend. Everyone seems taller, smarter, thinner, prettier, and tanner than you. They seem to be having the times of their lives. Laughing, smiling, joking, despite the fact that we have so many tests, so much homework, that reports come out next week and finals are just around the corner! They all seem to have so many friends and constantly having someone saying hello.
Well in fact life is NOT what it seems. Most of them surround themselves with people for the reason that they are so deathly afraid of being alone. There afraid to the point they don't know what a true friend is and neither do they know how to be a friend themselves. Without those people they would be absolutely nothing. They hurt just like me and you. They see their own imperfections when they look in the mirror too. They pick up on how the person next to them looks so much tanner and so much better in a bikini. How the kid across the room looks so much prettier, taller and they notice the girl who is completely brilliant. How all the guys look at her, what they say about her. They dream of being just like someone else.
Even though you don't see any flaws they do. Maybe sometimes its the things we don't see that makes you more alike then you'll ever know. Somewhere between the procrastination, homework and friendships, boyfriends, crushes, dates, classes, and tests. Between all the changing and growing, I forgot what high school is all about.
I forgot what it feels like to be sucessful, what it means to cry. I forgot pretending to be happy doesn't make you happy. And pretending to be smart doesn't make you smart. That you can't forget the past in fear of the future. I forgot you can't control falling in love and you can't make yourself fall in love.
I learned I can love. I learned its okay to mess up and asking for help isn't a sign of weakness but a sign of strength. I learned the things we want to forget are the things which we need to remember and talk about the most. <3 Life is crazy like that! <3
