It's somewhat conceptual. The title "you're better off believing" is from a song by Taking back Sunday, and the line continues to say "you're better off believing everything you heard was true". The fence is painted red and reminded me of blood and has nails sticking out of it. All in all, it's about the corruption of innocence and how the girl is young and ignorant of the dangers of everything around here.

But I don't understand why you would pair the wood with her face.
I think the little girl's picture could stand alone very well.
